What is the BMI calculator?

The Body Mass Index (BMI) calculator will determine whether you are within a healthy weight for your height. The index is calculated by dividing your weight (in kg) by your height (in metres squared).

It is also useful to take into consideration your waist circumference, as waist measurement helps to assist the risk of health problems by measuring the amount of fat carried around the middle of the body.

If you have a BMI over 30 or 35 you are at risk of:

  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Heart disease
  • Venous Stasis Disease
  • Soft Tissue Infections
  • Reflux disease
  • Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOS)
  • Sleep Apnoea
  • High Blood Pressure
  • High Cholesterol
  • Arthritis
  • Risk throughout pregnancy

Calculate your BMI below and find out if you are eligible to book in for a bulk billed appointment with Mr Siva Gounder.
